Isai Martinez took up advertising in college to avoid math subjects.
She landed a job as an art director in BBDO Guerrero in 2012, barely a week after graduating.
Two years later, she learned how to surf. She also launched the campaign “Labels Against Women” with Pantene in 2014, which garnered recognition both locally and internationally.
It was also at this time that she worked on the iconic “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign for the Philippine Department of Tourism, which was the perfect intersection of her love for surfing, traveling, and fun.
It was because of this (and all the weekly surf trips) that she found herself several shades darker in 2015, while moving up to Associate Creative Director- handling a more diverse portfolio of brands and clients.
2017 brought Isai to bigger waves, as she moved to BBDO Indonesia as a Creative Director. She currently handles brands like Guinness, Fonterra, Quaker, and Gudang Garam, to name a few (She also tries her best to handle the spice of Indonesian cuisine).
Now she hustles independently full-time back in Manila, working with clients such as BBDO Guerrero, J. Walter Thompson Manila, MullenLowe Philippines, Johnnie Walker, The Circle Hostel, The Plastic Solution, 88StoreyFilms, WYD Productions, et.al.
Isai has been ranked as high as the 5th best art director in the Philippines. She has also represented the country at the Adfest Young Lotus Creative Competition twice.
