Norte created a sample of packaging design for the fictional chain of the series The Simpsons; Krusty Burger. In the TV series, they make several references to the American Fast Food chain McDonald’s. For this reason, they decided to focus on this chain to create their design, making clear nods to the original brand in the 2000s and especially to its star hamburger; the Big Mac.
Thanks to the Barcelona illustrator Sergio Garcia and his creation of the logo for Krusty Burger, directly inspired by Ronald McDonald, the team were able to create this graphic image for the packaging by applying their design to different packages such as hamburgers, soft drinks, or french fries. They were inspired by the design style of the 2000s, taking red and yellow as a Fast Food reference and rebranding the McDonald’s brand image of the time, passing it to the Krusty Burger brand.
Norte also re-created the slogan of the Big Mac to turn it into “The one and only Big Krusty” and use it as the brand’s banner. Apart from the slogan and the logo, they also recreated the classic logo of the well-known brand, using the ” K” for Krusty Burger as the main element.
